CGES is a coalition for green energy and storage in Switzerland, bringing together stakeholders from businesses, associations, academia, and public entities, in order to create a platform for exchange and secure sustainable solutions to the energy and climate crisis.
The founders ETH Zurich, EPFL, PSI and Empa launched the Coalition for Green Energy & Storage (CGES) in 2023 as the first joint initiative to face the energy crisis in 2023. The ETH domain offers available technologies and science-based support to the industry with the objective of finding solutions to accelerate the transition to green energy in Switzerland. At the core of this initiative are demonstrator projects for new, scalable technologies.
CGES protects the future of the Swiss and global economy by implementing sustainable and scalable solutions to the energy and climate crisis.
The CGES public-private platform enhances the stability, security, and resilience of the Swiss energy system by supporting the development of green storage through scalable demonstrator projects and by integrating cutting-edge research, industry expertise, and policy support.
